Willow Tree Library

WTL is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation in Michigan. We provide books for children and families living in Book Desert communities in the greater Grand Rapids area. We build and replenish community libraries with brand new, diverse texts for all ages. I serve on the executive board as the vice president.

Along with building libraries, WTL often works book distributions. This event was in Sparta, MI, promoting early childhood literacy.

One of the first libraries we built, put in a neighborhood in Rockford, MI, with the help of Built by JS Garrett

Sometimes, we help local groups by providing them with books to distribute to members. We always provide NEW books.

This library was built within a hotel that housed over 200 children and families due to the COVID19 pandemic.

We got the opportunity to build our newest bookshelf in a barber shop in Wyoming, MI. We made sure to include books about hair!

Even for libraries we didn't build ourselves, we make sure they are stocked with clean, new, diverse texts.
